The harvest has begun – although the weather conditions have not been great in Kasungu, we are pleased to report some good news!
Our project partner has managed to harvest 15 bags (50kgs of rice) and they are still continuing to harvest. None of this would have been possible without the generous giving of our membership which enabled us to send a seed grant to support this work.
Our grants has enabled the ploughing of the land, and funded the necessary fuel and transportation of tractor equipment as well of the clearance of the land to enable the sowing of seeds. We also helped to fund the seed rice for planting and the necessary weed killer and labour.
We are thrilled to hear about the harvest that has been enabled that will benefit and empower the local surrounding community.
